REI and WPS Information


WPS RegulationsReturn Entry Information (REI) and Worker Protection Standards (WPS)
are discussed here.

Generally speaking, the WPS requirements are EPA rules which define how businesses and farms must educate and protect their workers during and after pesticide applications. To read quick reference guide of the WPS regulations click here.

There are some exemptions from the WPS rules for owners of agricultural establishments and for crop advisors. To read these owner exemptions, click here.

There are also special exceptions to the normal re-entry time intervals (REIs). These early entry exceptions are allowed for short periods of time (less than one hour), and for unforeseen emergencies, such as repair of irrigation equipment which has unexpectedly failed.
